Friday 15th April: Von Donop Inlet to Heriot Bay.

After a lazy misty start to the morning we decided to up-anchor and make our way to our prawn traps that we dropped two days previous. The weather brightened up en route and we cruised out of Von Donop Inlet in gorgeous sunshine. This time it was Jo's turn to celebrate, as we dragged around 30 white spot prawns out of the water - precisely the amount she'd wagered. Needless to say, with the combination of successful prawning, and the glorious weather, it was Rods At Dawn and we all clambered to the stern in the hope of adding to the prawn catch with some cod or salmon. Me (Vic) and Susie were both lucky to catch a fish but the boys were unsuccessful, leading to much disappointment and vast emasculation. With morale amongst the boys at an all time low, it was a relief to moor up at the beautiful Heriot Bay so that we could offload some masculinity onto the pool table at the Heriot Bay Inn for some much needed competition. Dinner was some great pub grub with a few drinks and we weaved our way back to the boat to bed, only to find out (slightly noisily) around 5 hours later that the slightly elder members of the crew had gone back out to the Inn and stayed partying til the early hours...
